What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Management Coordinator position at Dismas House of Indiana, Inc?
Position: Part-time (20-25 hours per week, with potential for growth)
Reports to: Executive Director
Work Type: Hybrid (min 50% in-office, flexible hours)
PTO: 2 weeks

Hourly Pay Range: $18.00-$24.00 per hour starting
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and Process Resident Applications:
- Review applications for completion, assess eligibility using the intake checklist, and forward organized files with notes to the Executive Director for next steps.
2. Resident Phases Oversight:
- Oversee the case management process across all resident phases, ensuring appropriate progression and support for residents.
3. Supervision:
- Manage and train case manager(s), primarily work-study students and interns studying social work, criminal justice, or related fields.
4. Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parole/probation officers and external service providers such as Oaklawn.
- Report trends and issues to the Executive Director as needed.
5. Random Drug Screens:
- Schedule and oversee bi-monthly random drug screenings for residents, conducting repeat screens when necessary.
6. Resident Support:
- Provide one-on-one support for residents with more intensive needs, such as creating savings plans, applying for FAFSA, or addressing unresolved issues from interns.
7. Data & Reporting:
- Audit case notes and tracking in AirTable, draft reports to the courts, and ensure accurate record-keeping for resident progress and compliance.
8. Program Development:
- Assist with case management program development, ensuring residents meet recovery goals and maintain family and legal connections.
9. Weekly Collaboration:
- Meet regularly with other staff to discuss resident needs and make appropriate referrals for job placements, external resources, and support services.
10. Committee Support:
- Attend monthly review committee meetings to share resident progress and concerns, and participate in vetting resident applications.
11. Weekly Family Dinner:
- Attend at least one family dinner per week (6:15-7:15 PM, Mon-Thu) to engage with residents and support community-building efforts.
Qualifications:
- Experience in case management or social work.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with justice reform, restorative justice, or transformative justice approaches.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with external service providers.
- High level of integrity and commitment to progressive justice practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Peer Recovery Coach
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Lived experience in recovery and/or justice involvement (minimum one-year recovery and one year since being off of supervision)
- Some formal education in case management, social work, or justice
