The Disney Media Entertainment and Distribution (DMED) Sports Research, Insights & Analytics team utilizes all facets of media research (Nielsen, comScore, Adobe Analytics, etc.) as well as primary research to inform ESPN as well as the larger Walt Disney Company on A) how the sports as category and specific content is currently performing and B) how the business can drive even greater consumption in the future.
The DMED Sports Research, Insights & Analytics team is part the larger DMED Research, Insights and Analytics group of more than 100 world-class researchers measuring all aspects of media consumption across a wide range of networks, digital properties and SVOD services to guide The Walt Disney Company.
The project worker will support the Sports Research team in reporting, tracking and providing analysis of a number of college and professional sports properties across all TV, streaming and digital platforms. They will also support network operations by ensuring accurate and timely schedules are input into Nielsen’s NCL system and ESPN’s internal system on a daily basis.
This individual will be naturally curious, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once. They will ideally have experience with media research as well as a passion for and understanding of sports. They should feel comfortable communicating findings in written and verbal form to various clients across ESPN and DMED, while collaborating closely with peers within DMED Sports Research, Insights & Analytics and the ESPN Brand Strategy & Content team.

Responsibilities :
- Provide details of the ESPN networks’ program schedules to Nielsen on a daily basis
- Track performance of college and professional sports across TV and streaming and provide highlights of their performance to all departments
- Work on a variety of custom projects with guidance and supervision from the Associate Manager of Sports Research
Basic Qualifications :
- Must be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Needs excellent writing skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, and display strong attention to details
- Collaborative nature and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Must have basic mathematical ability
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation of media/marketing information required
- Basic understanding of quantitative methods such as survey development and sampling
- Basic understanding of qualitative research methodologies (focus groups, ethnography, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-year experience in media research
- Experience with Nielsen suite of national TV tools like NNTV and National TV Toolbox
- Familiarity with ComScore TV Essential and/or Adobe Analytics
- Deep knowledge of sports and sports media landscape desired.
