As a part-time RecreationLifeguard at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, you are the person our gueststurn to when they want to try water sports, have a campfire, do arts andcrafts, create a “memory” pillow, play rainy-day games or just chill by thepool with a cool drink in hand. Of course, safety, lifesaving and first-responder duties are paramount, but you will also read stories to little ones,get refreshments for the big ones, help with towel and equipment rentals, andso much more. The key to success in this job is having an authenticallyfriendly demeanor, an unshakably positive attitude and the sincere desire tohelp and protect others. Starting rate is $19.25
- LIMITED TIME $500.00 HIRING BONUS ONLY AVAILABLE FROM NOW UNTIL February 5,2025
- 500 Hiring Bonus (First payment after 90 days = $250 and Second paymentafter 150 days = $250)_ _To be eligible for the sign-on bonus, cast members must be in the positioncontinuously for at least 90 days after hire and be employed by The WaltDisney Company at time of payment. A cast member is hired after the successfulcompletion of Disney Traditions or one full day of employment. To be eligiblefor an incentive bonus after 150 days, cast members must remain employed inthe position continuously for at least 150 days and be employed by The WaltDisney Company at the time of payment. Payments will be made approximately twoweeks after the 90 and 150-day milestones, respectively. Bonus payments aresubject to applicable taxes and other legal withholding. Disputes concerningeligibility to a bonus payment shall be resolved by Walt Disney WorldRecruitment in its sole and absolute discretion. The incentives offered hereinare subject to change at any time, with or without notice. Cast Members hiredprior to January 5, 2025 or after February 5, 2025 will not be eligible for anincentive award._
- Responsibilities :
- Recreation cast members work both indoors and outdoors. Responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to :
- Ensure the well-being and safety of our guests
- Keep pool areas clean
- Answer guest questions
- Provide information and assist in recreation equipmenttowel rentals
- Host supervised children’s activities
- Read stories and provide refreshments
- Basic Qualifications :
- Here are the basic things you will need to be successful in this job :
- You must be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a valid US driver’s license
- Have (or be willing to obtain) US Lifeguard and First Responder certifications
- Pass a vision screening (corrected or uncorrected) with at least 2025 vision
- Ability to observe all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility
- Pass a swim test : swim 200 yards without resting, tread water without using your hands for two minutes, and retrieve a 10-pound brick from a depth of 8 feet.
- Heavy lifting and working with chemicals
- Be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
- This role is full-time and requires full availability for any shift, including nights, any day of the week. Must be fully available for any shift on statenational holidays.
