Job Summary:
Director, Marketing Strategy will be responsible for leading the development of marketing strategies that drive the business goals and brand growth for Storyliving by Disney and other Emerging Business initiatives. This will be accomplished by leading a team of direct report(s) and multi-disciplinary partners (Sales, Operations, Pricing, Revenue Management & Analytics, Finance, and the Marketing & Sales Centers of Excellence) to develop innovative marketing plans that generate qualified leads to the Sales team. In addition, the Director will assist with building business plans, performing strategic consumer analysis, and providing Marketing strategic insight and support to broader business decisions. This role reports directly to the Vice President, DSE Marketing & Distribution Strategy and is accountable to the Senior Vice President of Emerging Businesses.
Responsibilities
Marketing Strategies: Lead development of a holistic marketing & sales go-to-market approach, including strategies and tactical plans, supporting Storyliving by Disney and future DSE emerging businesses.
develop plans to generate qualified sales leads, maximizing revenue and operating income by balancing a bias-for-action with thoughtful planning on the highest value work
lead new business go-to-market strategies and integrated communication plans to generate consumer awareness, excitement, and purchase intent
develop close relationships with third-party developers and builders to effectively communicate marketing strategy, gain critical feedback, and effectively manage influence external groups toward business plan and organizational goals
oversee development of industry-leading community and builder sales collateral, website, and social media content
leverage consumer insights, financial & business data, and industry information to develop recommendations and drive decision-making
lead development of annual marketing plans, in close partnership with partners across Sales, media planning, creative agencies and other functional groups
work effectively and partner with cross-functional business leaders to identify, evaluate, and pursue viable strategic initiatives
key participant in team seeking new locations; responsible for developing competitive benchmarking and pitch decks to 3rd parties to support negotiations
collaborate in the creation of long-range growth plans and strategies
participate in external negotiations and planning on marketing strategics/tactics
Product & Experience: Influence product and experience development; contribute to direction by providing a consumer-informed marketing POV to potential new concepts.
Leadership: Motivate, inspire, and coach and develop leaders and cast. Champion a culture of creativity, collaboration, diversity, and innovation. Remove barriers and eliminate complexities while giving clear direction around key priorities.
Desired Qualifications
10 years experience in marketing; preference for marketing new launch/roll-out businesses
5 years of experience with master planned or residential community marketing; preference for developing strategies, collateral, and other materials for community builders
Preference for past or current participation in real estate industry or marketing associations
Proven success marketing a major consumer brand, including developing strategies designed to deliver business goals and build the brand
Consumer-centric mindset; proven track record working with marketing research and skilled at linking consumer insights to strategies and execution
Ability to partner closely with Sales leadership
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to gather and interpret data to inform strategies that drive business and marketing & sales decisions
Deep understanding and experience with communication mediums and integrated marketing communication planning
Strong business and financial acumen
Proven ability to lead a team; effective at coaching, inspiring, and aligning priorities
Demonstrated ability to lead and drive work across cross-functional teams
Highly collaborative and solution-oriented approach
Proven ability to effectively work with a variety of business partners and diverse stakeholders, and build effective and trusted relationships
Demonstrated high influence with senior executives across the organization
Ability to build strategic alliances/relationships within and outside of Disney

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field
