POSITION OVERVIEW
We’re hiring an Account Manager (Part time / Fully Remote) who can help us effectively accomplish our company mission: PR placements through innovation.
*OPPURTUNITY FOR FULL-TIME!
Our Account Manager will be responsible for learning, mastering and executing our pitch process, communicating directly with clients and delivering on real results (media placements for clients).
Disrupt PR clients are entrepreneurs, brand leaders, established organizations and emerging businesses who turn to us for smart, strategic media strategy.
As Account Manager, you will be expected to:
- Write, execute and send 2-4 strategic unique pitches per week to journalists and contacts per client
- Client-facing for 2-4 clients
- Communicate directly with reporters, writers and bookers to coordinate and setup interviews
- Communicate directly with client (weekly basis), providing hands-on support
- Firm understanding of news cycle, editorial choices, newsworthy dates and news-jacking
- Reactive pitching to breaking and day-of news on behalf of client
- Manage projects for the clients you oversee, adhering to timelines, deadlines and their scope of work.
- Deliver well ahead of deadlines
- Can pivot when client's opportunity gets passed, doesn't get defeated but encouraged to explore alternative mediums to pitch client in ( podcasts, Youtube Channels, LinkedIn Groups etc.)
- Understand of the agency business model and the value of public relations
- Pivot quickly and proactively
- Display a great, positive attitude, and being open to feedback and suggestions
MUST HAVE:
- 4 Year Degree
- 3-5 Years of experience as a PR Account Manager (experience being client facing and experience pitching journalists directly)
GOOD TO HAVES:
- You can bring an edge of creative writing to pitches with industry leading copyright skills that garner attention
- Understand the value of PR Metrics and can explain what the placement means to the client
- You have a background that includes a minimum of 1-3 years PR agency experience working as a publicist and/or 2-3 years of experience as a working journalist (print, digital or broadcast).
- You love and excel at providing exceptional client service
- You understand the public relations industry, news cycle and the makings of a journalistic story
- You love writing (pitching stories) and are a highly organized person who can coordinate multiple projects and pitches effectively, accurately and proactively
- You’re a self-motivated person who can work well independently while staying focused on the job at hand
- Account management experience; speaking and communicating with clients as the main point of contact (client facing).
- You’re a problem solver and think ahead to ensure any challenges don’t greatly impact progress or outcomes.
- You have a functional and quiet home working environment, including: A computer with WebCam, Zoom Proficient, cell phone and high-speed internet
- Degree or equivalent background in Marketing, Communications/Journalism or Business
- Technology savvy with the ability to jump into any software system and figure it out

Pay: $28.00 - $45.00 per hour DOE
Expected hours: No more than 20 per week, potential for FT after a few months
