About the Role:
Emerge Living is looking for a Director of Training & Development to lead the Training team. The Director of Training & Development will spearhead the creation and execution of talent growth and strategies to enhance the performance of Emerge Living communities. This role encompasses a wide range of initiatives, including management performance, succession planning, change management, capability building, and organizational effectiveness. The Director of Training & Development will provide expert guidance and resources to optimize alignment, engagement, and outcomes among community team members, community managers, and regional managers. As a strategic and innovative leader, the Director of Training & Development will oversee the Training and Development team, including the eventual addition of a Training & Development Manager.
What You Bring: (Requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. MBA a plus.
- Must have 3 years of training experience in multifamily or five to ten years' experience in training.
- Strong business acumen with a broad knowledge of all aspects of strategic organizational planning/development, team member relations, training and development.
- Superior interpersonal communication and presentation skills as well as proven organizational skills are required.
- Diverse experience in managing a range of administrative areas of responsibility.
- Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individuals with high ethical standards and professional demeanor.
- Strategic planner with sound technical skills, good judgment and operational focus.
- Articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
- Must have the desire to continually update job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organization
- A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor
- Possesses a strategic focus as well as an operational, implementation and detail-oriented perspective
- A Valid Driver's License
What You’ll Do: (Responsibilities)
- Apply talent management techniques and best practices to the needs of Emerge Living to include coaching, consulting and mentorship programs with managers and employees to establish a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Responsible for the facilitation, scheduling, communication and preparation of a comprehensive blended learning solution, including a combination of in-person classes, self-directed eLearning classes, and online instructor led educational initiatives on a range of topics such as leasing, sales, service, and leadership.
- Supports the culture of Emerge Living and its core values in the creation of content and materials that share that vision and purpose.
- Manage online learning platforms, including but not limited to, compliance-related training and federal/state regulatory training.
- Work closely with our communities to create a strong sense of team that positively reinforces performance.
- Leads and supports employee development from initial onboarding to ongoing growth opportunities.
- Engage in regular community visits that will help gather insights and capitalize on learning opportunities.
- Create, align and embed a competency framework and individual assessment tools that map to the levels and needs of the organization; ensure a robust, disciplined, and integrated approach to performance management.
- Develop and lead the strategy, planning, and execution for all leadership and management development programs and experiences across Emerge Living.
- Provide recaps for the Executive team for ongoing manager training
- Design and deliver customized training, talent and organizational development programs based on concept needs
- Lead and execute the research, assessment, design and implementation of learning and development programs that support the entire employee life cycle, beginning with onboarding and training
- Develop structured onboarding standards to ensure all employees receive one-on-one assistance with onboarding, systems, policies, procedures etc.
- Develop & implement structured training programs for employees with a building block learning approach that also incorporates a variety of learning styles
- Conduct department meetings and training workshops to help meet new goals
- Conduct concept needs assessments for learning and development activities that will build employees’ skills in line with the business strategy
- Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results
- Ensure Emerge Living conducts its business in full compliance with all national, state and local laws and regulations, as well as professional standards, accepted business practices, and internal standards.
- Perform such other duties that may be assigned for providing excellent customer service.
