Role Description:
As a Backend Developer on a product team, your role involves understanding both the backend and frontend architectures of the product under development. You will need to be able to effectively maintain, debug, and advance the features of the production system by working effectively as one of several developers on a team. To do this, you will need to understand how to use Git source control, Jira ticketing for bugs and features, and documentation development on Confluence. For this specific role, a developer should be familiar with most of the technologies as listed, but is expected to remain flexible to changes in the technology stack and to learn new skills independently as the needs of the product change over time.

Role Description:

Responsibilities:
- Define, assign, and resolve bugs, features, and tasks to enhance or maintain a production codebase using Git source code management within an agile software development team.
- Effectively modify backend services, including cloud serverless artifacts and databases, as well as frontend user interface components, to merge quality software into an operational IC system.
- Participate in multiple weekly agile development working sessions to ensure timely releases of bug fixes and new features.
- Participate in peer reviews of merge requests from team members
- Perform pre-release testing of bug fixes and new features
Qualifications:
- Must have an Active TS-SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or related fields requiring extensive use of software development, or, equivalently, three years of demonstrated, practical experience in software development.
- Three years of Python experience or certifications
- AWS developer associate or higher certification
- Experience with software testing to include unit testing and the use of testing frameworks on both the backend and frontend
- Familiarity and experience with the Intelligence Community (IC), and the intel cycle.
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Experience in backlog management, including Epic, Feature, User Story development, and refinement
- Experience with Confluence and Jira.
- Experience with the Microsoft 365 (M365) suite.
- Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with team members.
