Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Litigation Associate to join our legal team. As a Litigation Associate, you will be responsible for assisting with various aspects of litigation cases, including legal research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in court. Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research using resources
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Assist with case management, including organizing documents and maintaining case files
- Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the litigation process
- Negotiate settlements when appropriate
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar association
- Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents
- Proficiency in legal research using resources such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Prior experience in litigation preferred but not required
