Summary: As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the coordination of both local and national projects ranging from $0-100,000 to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. In this role, you will serve as the main point of contact for our customers and will provide Project Management services including the coordination of project schedules, involvement of both the internal team and external sub-contractors, and project approvals. Unique to this role, we are looking for an individual skilled in Mechanical Drafting to help facilitate the forward movement of the design throughout all phases of the project. - Manages and delivers projects on time and within budget
- Assembles project schedules
- Acts as the main point of contact for customers on assigned projects
- Addresses potential design flaw issues with the appropriate department or contractor to find a resolution
- Coordinates with multiple suppliers to determine the best cost and capability options per project scope
- Completes internal expenditure process for purchases and project approvals
- Coordinates shop drawings to ensure parts/projects are completed on time
- Maintains accurate completion/shipping dates for all materials released for fabrication
- Confirms receipt of lien waivers before additional payment(s)
- Works closely with the customer and engineering/maintenance staff to provide project status updates and technical advice
- Solicits bids for subcontracted work and verifies bids that correspond with the scope of the project
- Ensures subcontractors have the correct General Liability, Auto, and Workers' Compensation insurance
- Awards and issues agreements to contractors
- Coordinates construction activities on projects with internal and external trade contractors
- Performs site visits as warranted or as directed by the Engineering Manager
- Performs project closeout, site visit, and clean-up of punch list items
- Works with vendors to coordinate machine installations and initial training.
- Understands the principles of TPM(Total Productive Maintenance), PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Adjust)
Physical Requirements: This position requires regular standing and sitting for extended periods occasionally on hard uneven surfaces, climbing and lifting to 30lbs. Regular use of a personal computer, writing, and filing as required. The position must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and customers, vendors, and visitors. Travel will be required.
Education: Associates Degree in Mechanical drafting
