Job Responsibilities
- Adhere to the standards of safety management and identify any hazards to Management.
- Prepare and inspect equipment prior to operation and turn in daily inspections to Manager
- Apply required safety gear
- Hooking and moving parked trailers to load/unload door in the yard
- Communicate and document all movement of trailers
- Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus
- Positions forks, lifting platform, and other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials.
- Transports loads to designated bin locations
- Unloads and stacks product and materials by raising and lowering lifting device
- Communicate any maintenance or repairs needed to the Manager
- Maintain fuel levels and perform adequate maintenance checks on tractor
- Must have knowledge of two-way radios, ability to work a battery changer and swap out tanks on forklifts
- Operator will lift up to 50 lbs or more on regular basis.
- No fear of heights or susceptible to motion sickness
Job Requirements
- GED or High School Diploma
- Minimum two (2) years of tractor or yard dog driving experience
- Commercial Drivers License (Class A – CDL) preferred
- Obtain/maintain forklift certification
- Outstanding eye coordination
- Excellent physical condition
- Good mathematical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to adapt to changes and maintain team mentality
- Must be dependable and trustworthy / maintain confidentiality and professionalism
