What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Maintenance Technician position at Distribution Management?
Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain and based at our Carlisle , PA Distribution Center, the Maintenance Technician will:
- Oversee, maintain, repair, and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and other facility structures across all five Distribution Centers (DCs), in a timely, effective, and safe manner
- As needed, regularly travel to other DC locations to complete required repairs and maintenance work
- Worked with various warehouse equipment, including but not limited to:
- Conveyor belts
- Forklifts
- Pallet jacks
- Successfully utilize established repair policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including but not limited to work orders and parts used
- Follow proper safety protocols to alert DC associates of any equipment that is out of order
- Alert management and any other necessary parties when any tools and/or supplies required for performing repairs are unavailable or broken
- Be responsible for company tools and maintenance equipment used in performance of job duties, including inventory maintenance, safe operation, proper storage, and security of tool area
- If authorized, purchase tools and other equipment needs from vendors to perform required duties
- Meet established schedules and timelines
- Other duties as assigned
preferred qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years' experience with automated conveyor systems and controls
- 3 years' experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
- 3 years of industrial maintenance or related work experience
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work independently
physical requirements:
- Ability to continuously stand, walk, and assume various positions for extended periods of time (including but not limited to bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and working from elevated surfaces)
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull various weights ~15-60 pounds (need to confirm), when needed
- Ability to handle frequent travel to other DC locations (about 30-40% of the time [need to confirm])
- Requires working around moving machinery and heavy equipment
- May be required to work in confined spaces, when needed
- Must always wear proper safety equipment
- Perform job duties in various weather & temperature conditions
- Ability to be around various loud noises in a warehouse setting
