What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Clerk position at Distribution Technology Inc TOP100 3PL?
PURPOSE:
Schedule delivery and pick-up appointments and provide load numbers to the carrier or vendor. Coordinate client requests between the Client Support Representative and warehouse operations. Forward all required documents to the appropriate Client Support Representative for verification of all processed information into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Schedule inbound deliveries and client and carrier pick-up in the appointment scheduler.
· Check-in Drivers and assign them to correct dock door for loading and unloading.
· Follow the delivery schedule door assignment and coordinate deviations with the Supervisor to optimally place trailers for unloading and loading near the storage areas for the inventory.
· Continually communicate with the Supervisors on inbound arrivals, late orders, and other related matters of importance. Communicate carrier arrivals to the operations team on the floor.
· Enter data into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and generate required documents for release to the floor for order picking for orders scheduled to be shipped on the current date.
· Communicate any deviations from the original door plan with the Security Guard on duty.
· Send the required documents to the operations team to unload and receive the load.
· Verify the receipt and associated documents for accuracy and enter the data into the WMS. Print the put sheet and send it the operations floor to be checked for accuracy. Make any adjustments to the receipt if noted and forward the receiving package to the appropriate Client Support Representative.
· Based on the WMS Report, print pick tickets scheduled to ship today, breakdown the document and attach the pallet labels. Send the order to the operations floor for picking.
· Print or match the client provided bill of lading, stamp the freight bill and complete the stamp, create or attach the load sheet, and hold until the appointed carrier arrives for pick-up.
· Communicate pickup times and required information daily to the LTL carriers.
· Return the completed bill package to the appropriate Client Support Representative.
· Comply with all guidelines set by DOT, EPA and OSHA when working with hazardous materials.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Knowledge of general business computer and software and the aptitude to learn new software applications.
· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
· One year of related experience and use of Microsoft Office applications.
· Six months of experience with databases and preferably a Warehouse Management System.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Requires visual acuity to read and type words and numbers and speaking and hearing abilities to sufficiently communicate in person or over the telephone. Must be able to operate computer keyboard, and other required office equipment. Work involves sitting for long periods of time, walking, standing, bending, and stooping. Must be able to work in the shipping and receiving areas to adequately provide client support. Will occasionally lift 50 lb. boxes. May be exposed to hot, cold and dusty conditions.
