POSITION: Coordinator, Secondary Math
EXEMPT STATUS: Exempt
NUMBER OF DAYS: According to district approved calendar
DEPARTMENT: Teaching and Learning
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Teaching and Learning
SUPERVISES: As assigned
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with the appropriate teacher certification
- Master’s Degree from accredited college or university preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience
- Deep knowledge of the subject-area content and research-based instructional strategies/practices
- Capacity to lead content-area teaching teams for the purpose of improving instruction and student achievement
Position Function/Purpose Provide direction and leadership for the overall administration and coordination of the 6 - 12 Math curriculum program and ensure the effective implementation of various curriculum resources. The coordinator develops, implements, supports, and monitors the 6 - 12 Math program and provides leadership for district-wide mathematics initiatives. Assist teachers in utilizing the best and most reliable teaching techniques; assist in providing professional development for teachers in new, remedial or accelerated instructional procedures; assist in the development and implementation of the District curriculum as it relates to secondary math.
