POSITION: Elementary Mathematics Strategist
EXEMPT STATUS: Exempt
NUMBER OF DAYS: According to district approved calendar
DEPARTMENT: Teaching and Learning
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Teaching and Learning
SUPERVISES: None
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate required
- Specialty or endorsement in Mathematics preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- At least three years experience as a successful classroom teacher
- Successful experience utilizing math assessment data at the student and campus level to inform instructional decisions
- Experience in instructional coaching preferred
POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE The primary role of the Elementary Math Strategist is to work directly with teachers, campus leadership teams, and the secondary math coordinator. The work includes advancing high-quality Tier 1 math instruction by supporting campus implementation of district resources, participating in assessment development, and providing professional learning as needed. The academic focus shall align with the District Improvement Plan as reflected in Board Goals. |
