Job Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist the Chief in the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Unit and supervise SSB leadership and SSB staff.
- Oversight coordination of SSB staff assignments on high risk and press matter cases.
- Provide support to ADAs throughout the office on SSB support services.
- Assist the Chief in representing DANY at meetings, conferences, taskforce and trainings.
- Maintain a reduced caseload as needed.
- Assist Chief in the oversight of grant planning, applications and all obligations related to SSB grants.
- Assist Chief in program development and development of future initiatives.
- Support Chief with executive projects.
- Act as the backup approver for the processing of staff City time.
- In partnership with the Chief , the Deputy Bureau Chief serves as a final approver on HCM performance reviews.
- Provide guidance and support to supervisors on HR matters, escalating issues to the Chief when necessary and appropriate.
Preferred Requirements/Skills:
- Written and oral Spanish, or Mandarin and or Cantonese fluency a plus.
- ASL proficiency a plus.

- The selected candidate must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.

- Current office employees: To be eligible for a transfer or promotion, staff must have already served at least 1 year in their current position and be in good standing. In addition, must meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
- Looking for candidates that could commit to one (1) year to the hiring Unit.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Social Work and five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience.- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI)
