GENERAL SUMMARY: The Paralegal will assist attorney(s) by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; research, investigations, and fact checking; and trial preparation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Percentages Describe the duties and responsibilities of the position in the spaces provided below and assign percentage of time spent on each area on the left column space.
25% Drafts legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
25% Provides written analysis to attorneys of case files and criminal histories; Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources.
20% Works with other legal or law enforcement offices to manage warrants, indictments, and other legal paperwork
10% Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.
10% Assists attorneys with grand jury or court preparation, which may include attending grand jury and hearings.
10% Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required; Bachelors degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred.
Experience: 1-3 years experience required, 5 years experience preferred

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Certification: Paralegal certificate preferred.
