Interim School Age Child Care Site Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completed training in First Aid and CPR
- Meet minimum requirements as indicated by Cabinet for Human Resources.
- Must meet Physical Performance Requirements
- Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS: District Child Care Director
SUPERVISES: Child Care Program Assistants
JOB GOAL: To provide a quality childcare program that meets State and District guidelines and requirements and to provide a safe and stimulating environment that meets the needs of students and parents. Works towards the goal of improving academic achievement, school attendance, and behavior.
BASIC FUNCTION: Serve as the lead instructional monitor in charge of providing a safe and quality environment for students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees Before, After and Summer Childcare Programs.
- Ensures supervision of students on a one-on-one basis, in small groups or in large groups to ensure their safety; to follow procedures to safeguard the health and safety of students.
- Confers with the District Child Care Director and Principals regarding school rules on use of facilities.
- Communicates with and supervises childcare staff and volunteers and guides staff activities; including development and scheduling of daily activities and programs.
- Maintains inventories and completes up-to-date program records as required by District Child Care Director, School Board policy, and CHR.
- Enforces childcare program rules and guidelines for children and staff as indicated in the Parent Handbook and Registration packet.
- Ensures that childcare program areas are prepared appropriately for program each day.
- Provides and performs student health services as directed by Director after receiving appropriate training as required by law.
- Moves around and circulates in assigned areas.
- Obtains and maintains at least the minimum requirement of training hours set forth by CHR.
- Inputs daily attendance records and records receipt of program fees on the computer.
- Provides necessary flyers and announcements on the computer.
- Communicates with teachers regarding homework assignments, needed parent/teacher meetings, and messages for parents, etc.
- Requires staff to work when school is not in session including, but not limited to, snow days, holidays, etc.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the District Child Care Director or the Superintendent.
TERM OF SERVICE: Salary and work days/jobs to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with
provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
