JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Teacher - Level Determined by Certification
QUALIFICATIONS: As set by state certification authorities
REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES: Teacher Aide and Volunteers
JOB GOAL: To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, social and
psychological growth.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares materials for teaching all subjects on the elementary level except music so that the individual needs of each student are met.
- Encourages each child to become more independent by following written and oral instructions.
- Re-examines the progress of each student periodically in order that the student, teacher, and parents can be aware of the extent of his achievement.
- Assigns work for each child according to his needs.
- Confers with co-workers in order to coordinate efforts; confers with students on a regular basis; confers with parents as necessary.
- Maintains discipline.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competencies.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Plans, supervises, and provides available materials and instruction for use for Paraprofessionals, volunteers, and substitute teachers.
- Collects lunch and/or milk money daily.
- Assists with all forms of duty.
- Keeps records as required.
- Uses various forms of technology to help keep students engaged.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year as determined by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of
the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.
Salary : $50,000
