Description
The Loan Closer/Post-Closer supports the complete closing and post-closing functions of loans for the DC Housing Finance Agency’s Single Family Programs. Primary duties of the position include: settlement scheduling, obtaining/review final loan/closing conditions, preparation and transmittal of loan closing documents, and post-closing follow-up, scanning, filing and shipping, as necessary.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Monitor loan pipeline to ensure timely loan closing and post-closing for all Single Family Programs
· Coordinate closing dates with lenders and title companies
· Maintain closing calendar and reschedule settlements as needed
· Communicate with lenders regarding loan status, outstanding items and address questions
· Review final Closing Disclosure (CD) provided by lender and title company to ensure compliance
· Review closing documents including; title reports, termite reports, homeowner’s insurance, etc. for accuracy and acceptability prior to closing
· Upon final approval of loan, prepare and securely transmit closing documents to lender
· Submit loan funding requests to Agency’s Office of Financial Management and confirm funds have been sent for settlement
· Confirm receipt of complete and accurate post-closing executed document
· Perform post-closing duties for all Single Family Programs including; receipt of original executed closing documents and conditions, review and follow-up of required documents,
· Assist with clearing post-closing deficiencies required for loan purchase
· Ensure all documents are electronically scanned into system
· Ship closed loan files to appropriate investor as applicable
· Monitor and ensure rate lock and closing purchase deadlines are met
· Maintain borrower closing files, including monthly Continuing Eligibility Certifications
· Prepare final closing reports and other reports, as required
· Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma required
· 3- 5 years mortgage related experience
· 3-5 years customer service experience
· Understanding of mortgage concepts, practices, and procedures
· Ability to pay strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
· Must be able to successfully and autonomously manage projects of a varied and complex nature
· Must possess strong working knowledge of all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite,
· Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
· Ability to work proactively and operate accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
