- Contracts & Acquisitions: Support schools and Central Office in purchasing goods in alignment with procurement law and regulation; and
- Finance: Ensure school and central office finances are allocated and expended in alignment with the district’s strategic plan, in a manner that fosters transparency, maximizes funds, promotes equity, and ensures compliance with requirements.
The Finance division is responsible for ensuring that Central Office and school support functions align necessary resources to the district’s strategic plan in order to strategically solve long-term budget challenges and improve budget processes across the agency.
The mission of the Office of Resource Strategy (ORS) is to align and manage resources across the organization to best meet the needs of our schools and create the conditions for district success. The Office is responsible for facilitating the successful financial and business performance of the district and integrating the district’s business and financial interests to ensure an equitable distribution of resources that best serves all students. The Office provides financial strategy and leadership to implement strategic goals and objectives and gives direction to leadership toward the achievement of the District’s philosophy, mission, strategy, annual goals, and objectives. The Office also is responsible for ensuring sound business and financial practices are followed in compliance with federal and state regulations, district policy, business policies and procedures, and other applicable financial and business standards and practices. The Office supports employees throughout the district to ensure DCPS provides high-quality customer service and employee support for all district employees.
ORS programs include the following:

The Analyst, Monitoring and Program Support is responsible for supporting the Director, Monitoring and Program Support with ensuring that the team operates efficiently and meets key areas of monitoring and compliance. The Analyst must be self-motivated, organized, enthusiastic, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. The primary responsibilities of the Analyst will be to maintain the federal programs and grants (FPG) accounts and respond to stakeholders in a timely manner, create detailed reports and tracking logs which ensure monitoring and compliance, collect and report compliance data, assist with audit preparation and document collection, and provide technical assistance to stakeholders. The Analyst will also support the team by reviewing required documents, ranking students, and provide program designs for implementation. The Analyst must also conduct research and demonstrate the ability to read, report, and create data analyses and visualizations.
This position is a safety-sensitive position. As a result, throughout employment this position will be subject to the Employee Mandatory Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy.The Analyst, School Program Support will report to the Specialist, Instructional Coach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Reviews federal legislation and synthesizes communication to keep stakeholders abreast of impeding program and budget changes.
- Monitors approximately 50 schools to ensure compliance with various mandates, with a special focus on Titles Iof the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by ESSA.
- Reviews and analyzes student data and performance measures and effectiveness of past and prospective programs.
- Ranks students for program participation and analyzes student data reports for detail annual reporting to support the mission of closing the achievement gap.
- Recommend program designs for implementation and propose feasible solutions for identified concerns.
- Assist with reviewing, managing, and reporting school expenditures and deliverables to ensure monitoring and document collection.
- Oversees all federal programs and grants databases and tracking logs and ensures yearly archival of required data collection.
- Assists with purchasing materials and supplies for schools and program activities.
- Work alongside the Specialist, Instructional Coaching to review student records and understand deficiencies and overall goal to impact student achievement.
- Monitors student progress, tracks attendance, and measures performance data for all student goals; and shares this information with the student, parents, classroom teachers, and others where appropriate.
- Develops and keeps record of lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with research-based methods, techniques, current technology, and best practices to support student needs.
- Assists with developing lesson plans, student schedules, and complete classroom visit.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and one year of experience OR two years of experience (no degree requirement).
- Master’s degree in a related field, undergraduate major involving quantitative analysis, or work experience involving significant quantitative and qualitative analysis a plus.
- Previous exposure to or experience in the education sector a plus.
- Exposure to and understanding federal legislation, policy, and ESEA mandates a plus.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite application.
- Ability to cultivate and sustain relationships in a fast past work environment.
- Adaptable team player with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated, highly detailed, organized, and enthusiastic.
- Knowledgeable and skilled in identifying subpopulations, such as SPED and English Learners.
