Position Overview
The Coordinator, Technology will help increase the technological competency and proficiency of the school faculty and staff, as well as assist in managing the ongoing Information Technology educational program to promote student learning. The Coordinator will ensure the seamless use of technology for communication and operations, professional development (curriculum design and assistive technology), and teaching and learning of the National Educational Technology Standards for students. Finally, the Coordinator will ensure compliance with district technology use and ensure that equipment meets district standards. This position is a safety-sensitive position. As a result, throughout employment this position will be subject to the Employee Mandatory Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy.
The Coordinator, Technology will report to the Principal.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Coordinates or implements several small or medium-sized projects, or components of a larger project.
- Determines nature of obstacles and best DCPS staff to resolve; and tracks and follows up until issue is resolved.
- Schedules and coordinates program-related meetings, conferences, appointments and logistics.
- Coordinates and follows up on logistics of staffing and funding projects, working with HR, budget, and procurement.
- Builds relationships and liaises with various internal departments to drive collaboration and project success.
- Tracks and reports progress of projects through use of various computer programs and tools.
- Interacts with and responds effectively to urgent requests from multiple internal and external DCPS stakeholders.
- Refines and improves project management process; identifies patterns/trends in issues across multiple projects; and develops longer-term, systematic solutions to address them.
- Stays closely aware of progress of projects, high-level initiatives, and emerging issues across DCPS organization; and informs the Director of developments that impact or change the direction of programmatic priorities.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree and or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
- At least one to two years of experience providing IT technical support.
- Mastery of essential operating system functions, file management, routine maintenance procedures and commercial applications, including Microsoft Offce 365.
- Familiarity with, or ability to learn, all aspects of the school’s information technology system (PeopleSoft, STARS, QuickBase, etc.) and how all components are interrelated.
