25-26 Manager Child Nutrition

JOB DESCRIPTION:   To manage efficient and effective food services for the provision of wholesome and nutritious food products for students and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:   Certified Food Service Manager Certificate required. Knowledge of all phases of volume food preparation and service. Ability to supervise a variety of food service workers. The physical condition necessary for performance responsibilities. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to relate and work well with students, staff, co-workers, and administrators. Clerical and math tests required. Computer skills preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Follow district procedures and policies for sanitary preparation and serving of
• wholesome and nutritious food products, including appropriate storage,
• housekeeping, and cleaning procedures.
• Assist in the coordination of efficient and effective preparations.
• Assist in the review of menus and requisition of supplies and materials
• necessary to maintain efficient operations with a minimum of emergencies
• and undue delays.
• Assist in the selection, training, and evaluating employees’ performances
• as directed.
• Assist in the monitoring of operations; requesting the repair or maintenance
• services immediately upon discovery of unsafe or unsanitary equipment,
• facilities, or procedures.
• Assist in the supervision of sales of meals, including a deposit of fund
• collections and submission of reports as directed.
• Assist in the provision of special luncheons, cafeteria tours, and student activities
• as directed.
• Accurately process and maintain records of meal applications in accordance
• with Federal Regulations.
• Attend in-service training as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SALARY:  Full-Time, Nine-month position, beginning salary Level 33, employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.

EVALUATION:  Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy on the evaluation of support personnel.
