What are the responsibilities and job description for the AP Clerk position at District Office?
JOB DESCRIPTION: To provide bookkeeping services, accounts payable, and prepare related reports.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Training and/or experience in accounting is preferred. Knowledge of bookkeeping practices, maintenance of records and functions of computer software related to financial recordkeeping to include excel spreadsheets and databases. Ability to make arithmetic calculations with accuracy. Must be detail oriented.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform bookkeeping tasks as assigned, including the processing of invoices, maintaining records, filing documents and entering computer data.
- Prepare vouchers and process vendor checks for payment.
- Maintain files of open purchase orders in an organized manner.
- Research vendor statements for payments of reported outstanding balances; contact vendors if copies of invoices are needed.
- Prepare fiscal year reports for the Business Office and other departments as assigned.
- Assist with warehouse inventory as needed.
- Strive to improve performance standards.
- Attend meetings, workshops, and in-service training as assigned.
- Process employee industrial injury claims to include annual reporting.
- Requirement to follow HIPAA compliance regarding confidential information.
- Process district insurance claims for property damage, theft, and accidents.
- Verify Student Council revenue, prepare deposit related duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SALARY: Twelve-month position, beginning salary Level 33, employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.
EVALUATION: Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy on the evaluation of support personnel.
