What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator of ELL Program position at District Office?
POSITION SUMMARY: To support all aspects of the district's English Language Learner Program to support and advocate for students and teachers in the program to oversee required federal, state and local compliance processes and procedures. To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist the Program Director for ESS in planning, coordinating, and monitoring all aspects of the ELL program ensure that WUSD meets or exceed Local Education Agency (LEA), State and National requirements
2. Oversee federal and state compliance tasks
3. Completes federal and state reporting
4. Support ELL teachers in completing compliance tasks
5. Support ELL teachers in identifying and implementing high-yield strategies for serving students
6. Administers tests and assessments to current and potential ELL students
7. Works collaboratively with ELL team to analyze data from student assessments to determine appropriate placement
8. Assess student progress and assists the ELL teacher with curriculum and instruction plans
9. Supports communication between ELL teachers and stakeholders, including parents and other teachers
10. Complies with all rules, regulations and policies of the Governing Board
11. Other job related duties as assigned
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATION:
? Arizona Teaching Certificate
? Structured English Immersion endorsement, required
? English as a Second Language endorsement, preferred
? Demonstrates o Knowledge of Arizona State Standards
o Technology literacy o Excellent time management skills
o Skill in both oral and written communication o Ability to collaborate and build consensus with teachers and administrators o Ability or organize and present ideas
