Rock Creek Public School has an immediate opening for an Elementary Counselor shared between Westmoreland and St. George Elementary Schools.
USD 323 gives full credit for years of teaching experience, upon initial placement on the salary schedule. Entry level for the 24-25 school year, zero years' experience is $43,565. Single paid health insurance policy is part of the contract. Paid leave benefits, optional dental insurance, cafeteria plan, Section 125 & KPERS.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Counseling, as set by State Board of Education.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
SUPERVISES: Students as assigned by the administration.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Counsels students toward understanding the school and its environment.
- Counsels students toward understanding their relations with others.
- Assist students to realistically assess their strengths and weaknesses, particularly as they relate to their academic and/or vocational plans.
- Assemble and interpret information about students which will be useful to the administration and the teaching staff to improve the instructional program.
- With administrative direction, plan, supervise, and administer any testing programs required by State law or Board of Education policies.
- Upon request, prepare and explain reports for the Board of Education on the testing program or other pertinent topics.
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct.
- Work with the faculty as necessary to improve the instructional program and services to individual students.
- Inform parents when long term counseling affects their child(ren). Consults with administration concerning parent notification when this notification may be controversial.
- Maintain and strive to improve professional performance and competence.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Make recommendations on referrals to other community agencies.
- Act as a liaison among students, parents and school.
