This role is performed within a school environment, overseen by the Executive Director of Safety & Security, where teamwork and dedication to student success are paramount.

Primary Function: Responsible for assisting school safety programs in the Paulding County School District providing support, guidance, and direction to all district facilities as it relates to student and staff safety; ensures all facility safety plans and drills align with current practices and procedures coordinates and works closely with other divisions with the development, implementation, monitoring and feedback, and adherence to all safety plans. |

Qualifications:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED (Secondary education preferred) |
Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, related field, or equivalent experience preferred |
Knowledge of ICS, NIMS, and emergency management principles |
Knowledge of applicable K-12 laws, best practices, safety and security processes and procedures preferred |
Certified Emergency Manager or related coursework strongly preferred |
The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
Essential Functions:

Performs a variety of complex duties in support of administrator with responsibility for a district wide program or department with significant organizational impact and limited supervision |
2. |
Performs a wide variety of clerical and support duties to relieve the supervisor of administrative and clerical detail |
3. |
Composes and types a variety of correspondence, memoranda, requisitions, reports, forms, bulletins, and letters |
4. |
Assist in analyzing the critical needs in assigned areas; conduct team efforts to design, implement, measure and refine assigned programs; and lead quality improvement efforts. |
5. |
Guide collaborative efforts to support effective delivery of services to the District, assigned areas, and other customers. |
6. |
Coordinate departmental activities with other district offices and administrators; provide assistance to departments requesting and utilizing services provided; and represent the department as may be required in meetings and other outside activities. |
7. |
Provide program support and service delivery; communicate effectively within and across teams and participate in cross-functional work groups. Design, implement and monitor appropriate safety training programs on an enterprise-wide level, taking into consideration target audience and known areas of exposure to risks. |

Compile information and prepares and maintains a wide variety of data and reports according to established procedures and timelines |

Participates in special projects and research related to the administrator's area of responsibility |

Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required. |

Attends meetings, takes notes and prepares summaries as requested |

Implement and monitor the District's emergency operations plan. Develop and maintain District and department safety manuals. |

Consult with officials of local and area governments, schools, hospitals, and other institutions in order to determine their needs and capabilities in the event of a natural disaster or other emergency. |

Design and administer emergency/disaster preparedness training courses that teach people how to effectively respond to major emergencies and disasters. |

Learns, interprets, applies, and explains District policies and objectives |

Develop and maintain liaisons with municipalities, county departments, and similar entities in order to facilitate plan development, process improvement strategies, and response effort coordination. |

Develop and perform tests and evaluations of emergency management plans in accordance with state and federal regulations. |

Keep informed of federal, state and local regulations affecting emergency plans, and ensure that plans adhere to these regulations. |

Maintain and update all resource materials associated with emergency preparedness plans. |
24. |
Prepare plans that outline operating procedures to be used in response to disaster/emergencies such as hurricanes, nuclear accidents, and terrorist attacks, and in recovery from these events. |
25. |
Working with District Grant Manager, apply for federal funding for emergency management related needs; administer such grants and report on their progress. |
26. |
Attend meetings, conferences, and workshops related to emergency management in order to learn new information and to develop working relationships with other emergency management specialists. |
27. |
Develop instructional materials for the public and make presentations to citizens' groups in order to provide information on emergency plans and their implementation process. |

Lead contact and project manager for crisis alert systems- training, implementation, maintenance |

Lead contact for VectorSolutions or comparable District training platform |

Coordinates with county agencies to include coordinating district safety programs consistent with Regulation EBBF-R |
