JOB TITLE: Speech Language Pathologist
REPORTS TO: Special Services Director
JOB SUMMARY: This position assesses, treats, and provides services to students with speech, language, voice, fluency, and hearing deficiencies in a resource room, classroom, or other setting using treatment plans, behavior plans, 504 plans, and IEPs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Currently holds State of Oregon licensure for Speech Language Pathology. Other certificates as determined by the district.
- Proficient with database software, email, internet software, and word processing software.
- Criminal history clearance (background check and HB 2062).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Spanish speaking skills.
- Prior successful experience in a school setting.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides intervention that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of individual students and is selected through an evidence-based decision-making process in accordance with the IEP/IFSP documentation.
- Demonstrates awareness, knowledge, and sensitivity in the area of language acquisition with linguistically and/or culturally diverse populations.
- Design school-wide speech-language services that employ a continuum of service delivery models in the least restrictive environment for students with disabilities and implements a variety of service delivery models, including pull-out, in-class, and consultation.
- Consult and collaborate with teachers and parents to increase access to language in the curriculum in order to support development in the area of literacy across the language processes of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Identify, implement, and support students with the use of augmentative communication devices.
- Act as a member of the multidisciplinary team during the assessment process and evaluate students/children in the area of articulation, voice, fluency, and language impairments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 195-day contract at 1.0 FTE, starting Fall 2025. Salary of $71,200-$106,200, dependent on experience with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement.
