Job Title: WAREHOUSE COURIER/DRIVER

Range: II ($15.02)
Description: The Warehouse Courier delivers daily mail and provides courier services for the central administration to clients both inside and outside the District. He/she assists in receiving incoming warehouse shipments and delivers supplies, equipment, materials, etc. to and from district sites. The Warehouse Courier/Driver also assists the Receiving and Distribution Clerk by performing a variety of tasks regarding the daily operation of the district warehouse.
Qualifications:
- High School education or equivalent is required
- 39 month MVR clean driving record
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License
- Must pass fingerprint clearance
- One (1) year of warehouse and/or delivery experience is preferred
- One (1) year of clerical and/or mailroom experience is preferred
- Knowledge of computers and other applicable equipment such as, calculator, printer, copier, etc.
- Experience with computerized warehouse management system is preferred
- Knowledge of communication equipment such as telephones, two-way radios and pagers/beepers
- Knowledge of the English language including reading, writing and oral communication
- Knowledge of arithmetic and basic mathematic procedures
- Ability to read street maps and find unfamiliar addresses
- Ability to operate forklift and other power-driven warehouse equipment
- Must be able to operate standard and automatic transmission motor vehicles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working/dealing with others
- Ability to comprehend and perform functions from written and oral instructions
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, etc.
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to organize and prioritize work, adhere to time restraints and deal with several assignments concurrently
- Must be able to work weekends and extended hours as needed
- Must be an energetic, highly ethical and possess good emotional and physical health
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Receiving and Distribution Clerk in receiving and processing orders for furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials
- Assist in the inspection of incoming shipments against invoices, packing slips, purchase orders, etc.
- Assist in verifying that items received are in good condition and report damages and discrepancies to supervisor
- Assist the Receiving and Distribution Clerk in preparing items for return for shipping as needed
- Assist in placing inventory tags on equipment and recording locations of capital items
- Fill requisitions by assembling, measuring and packing warehouse stock according to requisition(s)
- Deliver incoming shipments and warehouse supplies and/or equipment to district sites
- Pick up and deliver audio-visual items, test materials, printed materials, etc. to and from schools and the district office
- Assist in the receipt, sorting and assembly of daily incoming mail
- Pick up and deliver daily mail to schools and the district office
- Pick up and deliver confidential letters or documents to District employees, parents and other governmental agencies
- Maintain security of confidential letters or documents including getting receipt signatures
- Prioritize daily delivery route based on urgency and importance and plan efficient delivery routes
- Assist Receiving and Distribution Clerk with physical inventory of materials and supplies
- Assist in stocking and organizing warehouse
- Assist in maintaining current warehouse inventory by processing orders through computer system
- Adjust and rotate stock levels and quantities as needed
- Maintain clear, well-organized logs and records regarding pickups and deliveries of equipment, supplies and mail
- Assist in maintaining clean, safe and organized storage and receiving areas in the warehouse
- Assist in maintaining security of the warehouse and mailroom by following established security practices
- Participate in district sponsored professional development workshops/inservices, attend on-going training classes as directed, and read professional publications for continued professional development
- Maintain strict confidentiality and use appropriate discretion when working with all district personnel records and/or information
- Support and follow the rules, regulations and policies set by the School Board and the District
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Governing School Board, the Purchasing Coordinator or his/her designee
Length of Employment:
- Twelve (12) months
- School calendar will determine the days worked during the school year

Evaluation: Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board Policy GDO
