District Partners has been engaged by our client, a boutique MD-based professional services firm, with an immediate, Fractional Accounting Manager search.
This Fractional Accounting Manager will manage the relationship with several non-profit clients, as well as lead the month-end close and financial reporting cycles for client organizations.
Position Summary : The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of multiple non-profit clients on a part-time basis. This includes maintaining the financial health of the organization through meticulous financial planning, management of accounting processes, and ensuring compliance with federal grant requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit accounting, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
This person will be expected to commit roughly 20-30 hours a month towards various clients, and can be fully remote / based anywhere in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee all accounting operations including AP, AR, GL, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Manage and ensure compliance with federal grants and A-133 audits.
- Prepare financial statements and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Review and approve all reconciliations and journal entries.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of the financial audit process.
- Manage financial systems.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring professional development and performance.
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop financial strategies and solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Engage with external auditors, financial consultants, and tax advisors as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
