District Partners has been exclusively retained by a well-known higher education institution in the Greater Cleveland area to find a dynamic and visionary Facilities Director. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking organization where you’ll not only oversee day-to-day facilities operations but also shape the strategic direction of our campus infrastructure and sustainability efforts. As a key member of the leadership team, you’ll have a seat at the table, driving decisions that support the organization's mission and long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategic Vision: Take ownership of all facilities operations, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission. Collaborate with senior leadership to define long-term facilities strategies that drive growth, sustainability, and efficiency.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee maintenance, custodial services, landscaping, and sustainability programs while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence. Ensure facilities run smoothly, safely, and cost-effectively.
- Capital Project Oversight: Lead the planning and execution of capital projects, renovations, and construction efforts. Manage the successful completion of projects that contribute to the organization’s growth and modernization goals.
- Team Development & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of facilities professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
- Budget & Resource Management: Develop and manage the facilities budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost management without compromising quality or safety.
- Collaboration with Leadership: Serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team, providing expert guidance on facilities-related matters. Ensure facilities operations support academic, operational, and organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in facilities management, preferably within a complex environment (education, corporate, healthcare, etc.).
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and large-scale operations, with the ability to influence senior leadership and drive change.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, building codes, sustainability practices, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
