Canvasser

Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Canvassers. In this role, you will be responsible for engaging within 8 wards in the District of Columbia to promote our initiatives for our seniors and disabled persons in need, gather valuable feedback, and support our outreach efforts. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic environment and have a passion for making a difference for our seniors and disabled persons. Area of work will be determined by employee’s address.

Employees are to visit 50-100 houses and/or businesses a day. Canvassers are paid based on an hourly rate starting at $17.50, every two weeks . Each address and/or person provided with advertising materials are to be recorded by each employee, for tracking purposes.

Duties

• Conduct door-to-door canvassing to engage with community and businesses to share information about our services
• Employees will be responsible for leaving a flyer with each customers .
• Effectively communicate our mission and goals to potential supporters and gather their feedback
• Assist in fundraising efforts by promoting events and encouraging participation.
• Educate other businesses on our company
• Market our organization’s goals through various outreach strategies, including social media engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions and report back on community responses.

Experience

• Previous experience in customer service or sales is highly desirable.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as the ability to communicate in multiple languages can enhance outreach efforts.
• Familiarity with supervising teams or leading group activities is beneficial.
