Primary Purpose:
Support the efficient daily operations of the technology department by handling clerical
tasks, maintaining financial/purchasing records, and assisting with technology-related
assignments
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalency
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient skills in typing, computer, word processing, spreadsheets, and file
maintenance
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Basic math skills
Experience with spreadsheets and data entry
Ability to meet strict timelines, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and work
with frequent interruptions
Ability to accomplish work responsibilities with minimum supervision
Knowledge of record keeping methods, keyboarding, and preparation of
correspondence
Experience:
One-year experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Collaborate with the CTO, vendors, and staff to obtain quotes and
prepare requisitions for the department
2. Draft correspondences, memos, forms, reports, and other
communications for the technology department
3. Provide clerical assistance to the athletics administrative assistant
4. Collaborate with campus staff to provide quotes for technology
requirements
5. Provide support for hardware and software upgrades as needed
6. Assist with technology initiatives, enroll students/staff in online software,
and add/remove users in online software
7. Provide room setup for various training events
8. Provide support for maintaining accurate hardware and software
inventory records
9. Track technology purchases and document on spreadsheet
10. Answer incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to
appropriate staff; handle questions and requests that fall within the level
of responsibility
11. Prepare manuals, handbooks, reports, and other technology
documents
12. Provide accurate information for requisitions regarding
pricing, equipment compatibility, and current accounts
13. Keep CTO informed and updated on projects and issues
14. Work directly with the CTO in planning, organizing, and
building the district technology budget
15. Order and maintain office supplies as needed
16. Maintain confidentiality of information
17. Supports administrative policy and professional standards
18. Represent the school system to the community in a positive
professional way
19. Maintain a sincere, friendly attitude toward visitors and
patrons to ensure communication
20. Perform other duties, as assigned
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
Work with frequent interruptions. Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent
telephone and computer use. Repetitive hand motions. Requires working in a
cooperative, assisting manner with all district staff. Requires occasional lifting (up
to 20 lbs.), stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and prolonged use of computing
devices. Requires occasional travel to various campuses and locations within CISD.
