This is a posting for anticipated vacancies.
Candidates processing a current NYS Certification in the appropriate subject area will be given preference. Pending certifications meeting the following conditions may be accepted:
- The appropriate NYS certification will be issued by September 1st
- A letter from the college stating the applicant is expected to have their certification by Sept 1st ♦OR♦ an unofficial transcript and exam results with a passing grade should be attached to the application.
Please note:
- This is an anticipated vacancy only. There may or may not be an available vacancy.
- Vacancies will be filled internally and then, if a vacancy is still available, external candidates will be considered.
- Internal placements and transfers will take place on or around April 30.
- All qualified external candidates will participate in the screening process which will be conducted during this posting.
- The screening process will include a short virtual interview with a director.
- Screening results will be communicated within 7-10 business days.
- Informational emails will be sent periodically to keep you informed of our progress.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
- Valid New York State Certification in Technology
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and/or familiar with teaching the projected course load which may include the following:
- Digital Electronics, Electronics and Robotics, Energy/Aerospace, Introduction to Woodworking
- Willingness to teach a wide range of course offerings in the Engineering & Technology program which may include Project Lead the Way courses.
- Willingness to participate in activities designed to promote and/or strengthen the Engineering & Technology program.
- A desire to create a classroom that is flexible and student centered
- Willingness to work as a member of a cooperative team, collaborating on best practices, common assessments and data analysis
- Contributes within and outside the department if called upon, i.e. advisor, chaperone, club, etc.
- Incorporating differentiated instruction in planning a lesson/unit of instruction
- Evidence of effective communication skills both written and oral
- Effective interpersonal skills with students, faculty, support staff, and parents
- Demonstrated evidence of a knowledge of NYS Standards and Common Core Learning Standards
- Demonstrated evidence of exceptional effective classroom management skills
- Knowledge of technology and its application in the classroom
- Proficiency in modifying curriculum to meet the needs of special education students
- Ability to reflect and contemplate on one's teaching - allowing for growth and excellence.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
SALARY: $41,040-$52,800
Per WTA Contract
