Springfield School District has an opening for Certified School Nurse (CSN) to start the beginning of the 2025 - 2026 school year. Competitive salary and full benefits package offered.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities: The CSN is responsible for coordinating, collaborating, planning for, and, in most cases, providing direct services to ensure that the school district’s health program is carried out according to the specifics of school code and local Board Policy. The level of the assignment between secondary or elementary is to be determined based on past experience and building level needs.
The successful candidate will join a comprehensive school health team consisting of 4 Certified School Nurses and 3 Nurse Assistants across 5 school buildings and two parochial schools.
The goals of the CSN position are to maintain and/or improve the health status of students, thus enabling them to benefit fully from their educational experiences within the schools that comprise the Springfield School District.
Qualifications:
- Current PA Registered Nurse license
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Certification as a CSN Educational Specialist by PA Department of Education – Or ability to obtain certification as CSN per PDE guidelines and timelines – District will support an otherwise qualified candidate in obtaining the proper certification, if a CSN candidate cannot be identified
- CPR/AED certification
- Background/experience preferred in pediatric nursing, community health nursing, critical care nursing, medical-surgical nursing and/or emergency room nursing.
- Knowledge of current Child Abuse Law
- Required Act 48 continuing education coursework for Nursing license and
- Required State and Federal clearances
