Position Description
POSITION TITLE: Director of Student Services
FLSA: Exempt Professional
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for School Improvement
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month employment (261 days). Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board of Education. Benefits according to the Administrator’s Agreement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of two (2) years teaching experience
- Three years school administrative experience
- Must possess state certification in school administration.
- Must possess a minimum of an Ed Specialist degree in Educational Administration with a doctorate preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- District Pupil Personnel - Monitor attendance, discipline and truancy of students and provide year-end reports
- Director of Facilities – oversee district facility plans and day to day facility needs
- Director of Transportation - maintain transportation records and oversee daily routes and field trips
- Serve as the District Hearing Officer on requests for long term suspensions as directed by the Superintendent
- Ensure the development of building safety plans.
- Monitor student accidents and make recommendations for safety enhancements.
- Oversee School Resource Officer (SRO) program
- Supervise the District’s student health services program.
- Oversee the school health programs within the district. i.e. nurses, health clinic and dental clinic
- Oversee records at the district level.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Other responsibilities as directed by the Superintendent.
