EDUCATOR DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
School Year 2025-2026
BASIC FUNCTION:
To ensure that highly effective education professionals are recruited, retained, nurtured and supported so BCS students are provided the richest and most relevant educational experience the district can provide. To support the Chief Academic Officer in the facilitation of curricular goals and objectives into meaningful learning experiences for all students in the district; and to support the mission of Bardstown City Schools.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Take an active role recruiting and retaining highly effective teachers.
- In collaboration with school and district leadership, support new teachers and those in training to be a teacher.
- Nurture relationships with every College and University Teaching program within the state of Kentucky.
- Collaborate with Universities, State Department, and school/district leadership to elevate the teaching profession and recruit new teachers.
- Engage middle and high school students in the teaching profession.
- Recruit students to the Teaching and Learning pathway.
- Lead students in the Teaching and Learning pathway as the Educators Rising teacher/sponsor/coach.
- Support the planning and execution of the district-wide program of curriculum review and development.
- Provide targeted assistance to teachers in the preparation of curriculum materials.
- Support professional development planning in partnership with school and district leaders for teachers and staff.
- Assist principals and teachers in the planning and implementation of effective instructional programs and/or processes.
- Keep abreast of state and national educational initiatives; disseminates and interprets the guidance to administrators, teachers, and parents as appropriate.
- Support the selection and use of textbooks and other instructional materials.
- Act as a liaison with Universities and State Department personnel in order to keep abreast of new educational developments and ideas.
- Serve as a resource for instructional strategies and content-related support within schools as needed.
- Assist with all assessment and accountability programs, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality.
- Adhere to the professional code of ethics.
- Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as requested by the Chief Academic Officer.
- 210 Day Contract

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s Degree
- At least five (5) years of successful teaching experience
