What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds/Turf Assistant (open until filled) position at District Wide?
REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: One year in lawn or related maintenance preferred.
Physical Requirements: Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, walking and standing. Frequent bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, turning, sitting, and crouching. Occasional crawling and climbing. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs intermittently. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Other Requirements: Valid Driver’s license and good driving record. Ability to recognize equipment malfunction. Ability to follow written and verbal direction effectivelt. Substitutes for other operations staff and shares responsibility for holiday, extended day and weekend activities with other operations staff. Ability to work modified assignments as necessary to include off season and inclement weather.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
- Performs maintenance and upkeep of lawns, trees, landscaping, sidewalks, parking lots, steps, entrances, and athletic fields.
- Assists in snow and ice removal.
- Performs repair work to outdoor property.
- Performs remodel and construction work to outdoor property as assigned.
- Marks fields and sites for athletic events.
- Performs minor maintenance on equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
TERM: 12 Months
