We are currently seeking two long-term substitute K-5 Small Groups Teachers at our Gresham Arthur Academy campus in Gresham OR for the 25/26 school year:
Postion 1 is from August 18-December 19, 2025
Postion 2 is from September 29, 2025-January 30, 2026

Job Description includes (but is not limited to) the following:
• Teach Direct Instruction curriculum for reading, language and math (training will be provided by our staff)
• Follow Common Core standards for other content areas
• Learn, develop and implement standards of student behavior and classroom management
• Participate cooperatively with the principal and other professional staff members in assessing, learning and developing teaching techniques, classroom management and curriculum implementation.
• Prepare for daily instruction while managing time and workload effectively.
• Track and assess student progress, keep appropriate records, prepare reports
• Administer group standardized tests in accordance with state testing requirements
• Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day.
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents/guardians regarding student progress and student needs
• Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings
• Help build a strong academic school and community.
Qualifications:
• Oregon Teaching Certificate
• Teaching or job related experience with school age children, paid or volunteer
• Experience planning, implementing and evaluating curriculum and classroom management
• Experience coordinating and implementing frequent standardized, diagnostic and authentic assessment of student learning.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to problem solve with patience and common sense
• Ability to meet schedules and deadlines
• Be self motivated, flexible and adaptable.
