About Us:
Leominster Public Schools is excited to announce an opportunity to be part of the Programming the Acceleration of Computing and Equity (PACE) program. PACE is a visionary initiative developed in collaboration with the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents to enhance computer science education in middle schools.
Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and innovative educator to join us as a Computer Science Curriculum Facilitator. In this role, you will play a key part in implementing a pilot middle school computer science program that aims to provide students with equal and sequential exposure to computer science over two to three years. The program focuses on delivering high-quality, standards-based curriculum, fostering student interest and knowledge, and creating a pathway for continued computer science education in high school.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with district and school leaders to implement the PACE program Facilitate after-school meetings to support the development and enhancement of the computer science curriculum Ensure the delivery of a high-quality, standards-based computer science curriculum Motivate and inspire students through engaging educational experiences Contribute to the formation and activities of the district.
Computer Science Stakeholder Council Qualifications:

Attendance at PACE COP Meetings is required

Attendance at Quarterly facilitation Meetings is required

Teaching experience in computer science - this program is for educators who teach computer science in their classrooms

Strong understanding of middle school education and curriculum development

Passion for promoting equity and diversity in computer science education

Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Compensation:
This is an honorarium position with a compensation of up to $1600 for full attendance at all COP and Quarterly Meetings. The position involves after-school meetings as part of the PACE program implementation.
