Reports to:                 Custodial Supervisor

SUMMARY:

The Facilities Department of the Hudson Public Schools District is currently accepting applications for seasonal part-time employment as a student custodian. This shift will be approximately 3:00pm - 7:00pm 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various type of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.

  • Applicants must be dependable, physically fit and able to lift 35 pounds to perform light to medium custodial activities, general maintenance and building repairs.
  • They must be capable of working in a group setting and carrying out instructions with minimal supervision.
  • On the job duties include vacuuming, mopping, cleaning and santizing, window clearning, trash pick up and disposal, minor repairs, and any other duties as assigned by the director of facilities

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be 16 years or older. Those applicants under the age of 17 must have a work permit. Hudson residents can obtain a work permit at the High School Guidance Office by contacting Ms. Nola Ahearn at 978-567-6250 ext. 3127.
  • All employees over the age of 18 must complete a CORI form (available at Apsley Street) and have completed their fingerprint registration. Fingerprinting information can be found at http://www.identogo.com/FP/Massachusetts.aspx; the Hudson School ID is 0141000.

While performing duties of this job, the employee may often remain in a stationary position for considerable periods of time. The employee will have also have ample periods of standing and may be required to traverse throughout the building. The employee must frequently use hands and frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e., calculator, copy machine, and computer printer). Physical abilities may also include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, stooping/crouching, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations, and near/far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field. Ability must be able to lift and/or push and pull 30 to 35lbs for short periods, and walk up and down stairs several times a day. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff members, and the public in person and on the telephone.
