Regional School Unit 19 – Transportation Director
Regional School Unit 19, serving over 1,800 students in grades PK–12 from the towns of Corinna, Dixmont, Etna, Hartland, Newport, Palmyra, Plymouth, and St. Albans, is seeking a Transportation Director.
The Transportation Director will be responsible for overseeing a safe, efficient, and compliant transportation program for the district. Key duties include:
- Fleet Management: Ensuring the maintenance and safety of the transportation fleet, including buses and related vehicles.
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to state, federal, and local transportation laws and regulations.
- Team Leadership: Hiring, supervising, and supporting a team of transportation staff, including drivers and support personnel.
- Operational Efficiency: Coordinating daily transportation routes, as well as transportation for athletic events and field trips.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other school administrators, staff, and the community to ensure transportation needs are met in a safe, professional, and timely manner.
- Communication and Organization: Exhibiting exceptional personal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to be detail-oriented and tech-savvy.
While a bus driver’s license is preferred, it is not required to apply for this position.
