What are the responsibilities and job description for the Para-Professional position at District?
Reports to: Assigned teacher, building principal, and/or special services director
Job Description: Work with a small group of students or one-on-one with an individual student to assist the student with unique educational goals.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand for extended periods
- Walk, twist at the neck and trunk
- Bend and reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder horizontally
- Repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and operate equipment and demonstrate lessons to students
- Lift or move up to 25 pounds
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor students on district-provided transportation and assist students in getting on or off the bus and van
- Accompany students to the cafeteria for meals and assist students in getting and eating meals
- Accompany students to classes or therapy services and monitor their behavior
- Assist students with motor, balance, social, and life skills
- Assist students with personal care
- Clean and maintain an efficient work area
- Alert the assigned teacher of concerns related to the student
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
