We announce the following ANTICIPATED SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHING vacancy in the Rochester Community Schools for the 2025-26 school year. Applications will be accepted until FILLED.
TEACHER OF COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENTS

1.0 FTE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in Special Education
- Michigan Teaching Endorsement in the area of Cognitive Impairment (CI)
- Experience working with students with cognitive impairments, preferred.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal, Special Education Supervisor(s), and Director of Special Education
JOB GOAL: To develop, instruct, support, and implement individualized programs for students who require specialized instruction and individualized supports through Special Education Programs and Services and Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
SALARY:
Per Rochester Education Association Master Agreement

SELECTION PROCESS:
Selection of an individual to fill this vacancy is determined by the appropriate administrators based upon experience, qualifications, and professional attributes.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with timelines, laws and regulations that relate to district, state, federal policies and procedures.
- Monitor and document student progress on IEP goals.
- Collaborate with all service providers, and other staff to develop instruction and support goals that are designed to meet the learning needs of students.
- Compile and submit monthly Medicaid reports.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual students.
- Participate in building meetings as directed by the building principal.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Building Principal, Special Education Supervisor(s), Director of Special Education, or Assistant Superintendent.
