Literacy Interventionist (Anticipated)
District
- Provide literacy support to students in grades K – 5.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to improve overall literacy achievement.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of current elementary literacy research and pedagogy.
- Experience differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Strong knowledge of effective MTSS models.
- Proven ability to use data to inform instruction and measure student progress.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other staff.
- Ability to create engaging and effective individual and small group literacy lessons.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Reading Recovery certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
Certifications
- Maine DOE Certification - 092: Literacy Specialist OR
- Maine DOE Certification - 020: Elementary Teacher with the ability to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe will be considered.
- Travel between schools or district buildings may be required.
Reports To: Designated Principal(s)
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Master's degree in Reading or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- Teaching experience in elementary education.
- Experience working with all facets of MTSS in a school setting preferred.
Compensation:
According to the RSU #9 Professional Staff Collective Bargaining Agreement
RSU #9 is an AA/EOE employer.
