Position: Turret Truck Operator - Food Industry
Pay Range: $18 - $21
Schedule: 1st Shift: 6:00 a.m. 2:30 p.m.

As a Turret Tuck Operator and inventory management professional, youll play a critical role in warehouse operations by ensuring efficient movement, storage, and accurate tracking of inventory. This position requires expertise in operating a turret truck (or similar high-lift equipment) and maintaining precise inventory records to support organizational productivity and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:

Safely operate a turret truck to retrieve, store, and relocate materials within the warehouse.

Adhere to safety protocols and equipment handling guidelines to prevent damage or accidents. Wear Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

Perform routine inspections of the turret truck to ensure proper functioning.

Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) maintain and utilize inventory scanning systems. Able to confirm inventory transactions within WMS, troubleshoot and resolve issues identified.

Conduct regular inventory counts (cycle counts and full audits) to reconcile discrepancies.

Ensure proper labeling of inventory and any requirements for material movement.

Label and organize inventory to optimize space utilization and ease of retrieval.

Pick, pack, and prepare inventory items for shipping or internal use based on order requirements.

Collaborate with the shipping and receiving team to ensure timely and accurate order processing.

Inspect inventory for damages or discrepancies and report issues to the supervisor.

Ensure materials meet company standards for quality and compliance.
-
Work closely with warehouse staff and supervisors to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.

Assist with training new employees in turret truck operations and inventory procedures.

Potential to support loading and unloading trucks with materials or finished goods.

Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common industry, production, and technical documents in English. Basic math skills.

Prior proficiency in equipment uses and operation.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail.

Basic knowledge of workplace safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).

Commitment to maintaining high safety standards.

Strong leadership and communication skills within a team environment.

Proven experience in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and safety.

Ability to operate warehouse management software (e.g. SAGE, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms).

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and familiarity of inventory management principles and systems.

Physical ability to lift 50lbs and move heavy items as needed.

Ability to work at heights narrow aisles and six levels.
-
Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Education and Experience:
-
High School diploma or equivalent.
-
Minimum of 5 years of Turret driving experience.

Proven experience operating turret trucks or similar equipment within food manufacturing environment preferred

Prior experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
-
Forklift certification or equivalent training.
Physical Requirements:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.

Ability to withstand working in a freezer within an enclosed, warmed cab with appropriate PPE.

Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.

Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.

Ability to withstand various climates through the facility i.e. freezer, dock, production (as low as -15 degrees up to 110 degrees)

Ability to work in an environment with flashing lights, horns, and powered moving equipment operating in proximity.

Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking and/or remaining in a stationary position and often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

Ability to move self into different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and/or confined spaces.

Ensure compliance with GMPs and maintain a clean work environment.

Occasionally, stand, walk, squat, and perform repetitive tasks.

Occasionally, adjust body movements or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects.

Occasionally, must be physically able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, ramps, poles and scaffolding.
