About the position :

We are looking for an exceptionally talented, energetic, and friendly attorney to join our legal team. As the first member of a high-visibility organization, you will be responsible for building, supporting and leading all legal areas of the company. This is an incredibly unique opportunity to come into a high growth business and build much of the legal infrastructure from the ground up.

As the Senior Corporate Counsel, you will :

Provide counseling to the all levels of the organization (eg. Board, Leadership, Sales, Government, etc.)
Draft and negotiate complex contracts focused primarily on customers, partners, government procurement and vendors
Create & implement a scalable legal support structure & processes which map to the company's strategic growth plans
Support cross-functional efforts to define & build out Ditto's Compliance & Security posture
Evolve Ditto's IP strategy, partnering closely with Engineering, Government & Finance Teams
Support Corporate Secretary responsibilities (eg. Governance, Compliance, Equity, IR & Documentation)
Support strategic transaction work (eg. M&A, Fundraising, etc.)
Support employment matters (eg. ad-hoc, annual commissions plan, etc.)
Engage outside counsel in a thoughtful and cost-effective manner

What you'll need :

10 years of relevant experience

JD degree with strong academic credentials

Admitted to practice law and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice in California

Experience with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements with customers, channel partners, government entities and vendors

In depth counseling experience at all levels of an organization; you have the ability to adapt to the seniority of your audience, dialing in level of detail & communication style accordingly

Good strategic, business sense and demonstrated negotiation skills with respect to legal issues

Detail oriented & technically-adept, preferably with experience at a SaaS or Cloud company

Excellent organizational & time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously

Ability to work in a team with both lawyers and non-lawyers to establish effective solutions efficiently and in an amenable manner
