Summary
We are seeking a Managing Director to help lead the local investment team in developing and implementing the acquisition strategy for new commercial assets and providing oversite of the execution of the investment strategy on the portfolio in the Southern CA markets. This role reports to the CIO of DivcoWest.
The right person for the role will possess a blend of strong interpersonal and organizational skills. This entrepreneurial group prizes critical thinking, building relationships, independent motivation, and transparent communication. The position is ideally suited for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with a solid investment background in the Los Angeles market, a strong work ethic and a passion for real estate.
This role requires 4-5 days in office at our Beverly Hills, Los Angeles location.

Responsibilities
- Source and screen potential investments for varying investment criteria and investment vehicles
- Oversee the team responsible for the underwriting, acquisition, management, leasing and dispositions in the Southern CA metro area.
- Supervise the financing, structuring, negotiating, and closing of a transaction. Manage communications with potential outside capital partners and lenders; ensure compliance with critical partnership and loan documents.
- As needed, assist capital-raising professionals in valuations, investment summaries and presentations.
- Assist with networking and deal sourcing in Los Angeles.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior team members in Los Angeles.
- Role could expand outside of the Southern California markets.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree with strong record of academic achievement; graduate degree a plus.
- 10 years or more of commercial real estate investment experience in Los Angeles, preferably with institutional ownership.
- Experience with office, industrial and multifamily property types is a strong preference.
- Existing relationships in the Los Angeles market; ability to source deals through the candidate’s existing relationship base in Los Angeles.
- Exceptional real estate finance skill set including the ability to oversee/collaborate on complex deal modeling in Excel and ARGUS.
- Ability to assemble and lead successful teams both internally and externally.
- Experience working with joint venture partners and various investment structures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to handle multiple projects in team settings.
- Proficient in Excel, Office, PowerPoint, Argus and willing to adopt new technologies as appropriate.
- Highly driven, with a positive, solution-oriented attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to think like an owner in all decision making.
The person in this position must be able to:
- Remain in a stationary position for 75% of the time working on a computer and attending virtual meetings.
- Occasionally move about the office to access file cabinets, office technology, and attend meetings etc.
- Travel on occasion.
Compensation:
- $250,000-$300,000
