What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Supervisor and LCSW position at Divergent Path Wellness?
About Us
Divergent Path Wellness is a neurodiversity-affirming, queer-celebrating, trauma-informed group practice that supports clients in showing up fully to their lives, relationships, and identities. We provide culturally responsive, values-driven care rooted in self-determination and collaboration. Our therapists are passionate about doing good clinical work while also challenging harmful systems. We’re here for the misfits, the overthinkers, the folks who never quite clicked with traditional therapy—and we show up for one another with that same compassion and curiosity.
We’re growing our team of relational, anti-oppressive, ACT-informed therapists, and we’re looking for a licensed LCSW who’s excited to both build a steady caseload and supervise pre-licensed MSWs as they grow into deeply ethical, effective clinicians.
About the Role
This is a dual-role position for a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who is passionate about clinical work and committed to nurturing the next generation of social workers. You’ll carry a reduced therapy caseload (targeting 15 clients/week) and provide clinical supervision to up to four MSW therapists working toward licensure. Supervision will include weekly group supervision, individual meetings, and review of notes/documentation.
Therapy (60% of session revenue)
- Provide neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed individual therapy (primarily adults and teens)
- Maintain timely documentation in our EHR
- Participate in monthly staff consultation & community-building activities
Supervision ($40/hour)
- Provide weekly supervision to a small team of MSWs (2 individual sessions 1 group/week)
- Review notes and documentation for quality assurance (approx. 2 hrs/week)
- Offer thoughtful, values-aligned feedback rooted in ethical, client-centered practice
- Help nurture a culture of curiosity, consent, and community accountability
You Might Be a Fit If You…
- Are an LCSW in Virginia, with clinical supervision certification (or eligible to obtain)
- Have at least 2 years of post-licensure experience, ideally in outpatient settings
- Are trained or experienced in ACT, DBT, or related modalities
- Are passionate about services affirming the experiences of neurodivergent, queer, historically marginalized people — or work with these communities with deep respect and cultural humility
- Find meaning in mentorship and want to support supervisees not just clinically but professionally and personally
- Are organized, reflective, and good at boundaries (with clients and yourself)
- Want to help co-create a sustainable, values-centered work culture
What We Offer
- A deeply values-driven workplace that cares about both clients and clinicians
- Supportive onboarding and opportunities for growth as our team expands
- Flexible hours and autonomy over your caseload
- Team connection through regular consultation, Slack chats, and optional meetups
- IRA with employer contribution
- Health insurance available if 15 sessions/week maintained over 2 months
- Office space and telehealth platform provided
