Kitchen Manager
Compensation: Salary $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience
POSITION SUMMARY:
Directly responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation and maintenance of brand standards; sanitation and cleanliness; training of employees in methods of cooking, preparation, plate presentation, portion and cost control and sanitation and cleanliness.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
v Ensure that all menu items are consistently prepared and served according to brand specifications including recipe, portioning, cooking and serving standards.
- Perform monthly inventory and cost reports.
- Place orders according to occupancy levels and upcoming group menus minimizing waste.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, stock room, and equipment exceeding health department standards.
- Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following preventative maintenance programs.
- Oversee and train kitchen team according the standard operating procedures and brand standards.
- Handle, store and rotate all products properly disposing of expired items.
- Responsible to uphold the standard operating procedures to maintain consistency.
Qualifications and Requirements
Professional appearance with strong written and verbal communication skills required with an understanding and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Must be willing to work holidays and weekends. Hours vary according to occupancy and events.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in various kitchen positions with one year of supervisory or management experience required.
