Job Overview:
Diverse Lynx is seeking a highly skilled IT professional to assume the role of L3 VDI Administrator. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing our complex Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Implementation: Develop and execute VDI architecture strategies aligned with business objectives, design and implement new VDI solutions and enhancements, participate in infrastructure planning and capacity management.
2. Administration and Maintenance: Manage and maintain VDI infrastructure components, perform ongoing performance tuning and optimization of the VDI environment, manage user provisioning, de-provisioning, and access control, implement and enforce security policies and procedures.
3. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex VDI issues, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions, collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
4. Capacity Planning and Optimization: Monitor VDI environment performance and resource utilization, develop and implement capacity planning strategies to ensure optimal performance, identify and implement opportunities for optimization.
5. Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Maintain comprehensive documentation of VDI infrastructure, processes, and procedures, provide knowledge transfer and training to L1 and L2 support teams.
Requirements:
* Extensive experience with VDI technologies (e.g., VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops)
* Strong understanding of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
* Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and security best practices
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
* Experience with cloud-based VDI solutions (e.g., AWS WorkSpaces, Azure Virtual Desktop)
